Liposuction for weightloss
Liposuction eliminates excess fat to smooth an irregular body shape and improve one’s body appearance. This type of cosmetic surgery is useful for contouring the upper arms, cheeks, under the chin, cheeks, hips, calves, knees, ankle area, neck, abdomen, thighs, and buttocks.
However, this procedure is painful and may have serious complications. For instance, tumescent liposuction involves injecting a medicated solution into the target areas before the fat is eliminated. Sometimes, the solution is up to 3 times the amount of fat to be eliminated. It’s suctioned out together with the fat.
Another type of liposuction is LAL or Laser Assisted Liposuction. Laser energy is used to liquefy fat cells, which are then allowed to sap out through tiny tubes or vacuumed out. The tube used during this procedure is lesser than the one used in conventional liposuction. LAL can be used for confined areas such as the chin, face, and jowls. The energy from the procedure stimulates the production, which helps prevent the skin from sagging.
UAL or Ultrasound Assisted liposuction is a type of liposuction that turns fat cells into a liquid using ultrasonic vibrations.
The fat cells are then vacuumed out. UAL helps eliminate fat from fibrous parts of the body like the engorged male breast tissue and upper back.
Liposuction can be done for cosmetic reasons, body shaping or improving sexual function by reducing excess fat deposits in thighs. This method, however, has some risks such as infections, bleeding, fat embolism, drug reactions, asymmetry, and shock.
You don’t need to worry because there are non-invasive ways of eliminating excess fat. Two of these methods are cryolipolysis and hi-Fu.
Cryolipolysis - Non-surgical Fat-reduction Treatment
Cryolipolysis uses controlled cooling to get rid of stubborn fat. An applicator is used to freeze the targeted fat cells. The results are lasting and noticeable. Vacuum applicators draw fatty tissues into the applicator cup.
As the vacuum sucks the fatty tissues, you may feel some mild pinching, pulling or tugging sensation. Here are some excellent things about cryolipolysis.
- It’s more practical than liposuction since this procedure doesn’t involve downtime. Since it is non-surgical, you can resume your normal activities after the treatment session is done.
- You can multitask during treatment. For instance, you can check your email or read a book.
- You may feel extreme cold initially, but this feeling usually disappears within 5 to 10 minutes.
After the procedure, the target area may be bruised, inflamed, red, tender or sensitive. These side effects are temporary and usually disappear within days or weeks.
